Our Values: the SOLD Project

Over the past decade, we have defined and developed our organizational values. They guide every aspect of our operations as well as our interactions with our investors and supporters, our beneficiaries, and the general public. Check out the SOLD Project’s core values below.

Relationships

The SOLD Project was conceived out of and built upon personal relationships. From our relationships with students and other beneficiaries in Thailand to our relationships with investors, donors, the justice community, and one another, we strive to intentionally invest in and thoughtfully deepen our connections each day.

Transparency

As a nonprofit organization striving to create the largest impact possible in preventing child exploitation, we believe transparency is fundamental to all of our operations. This transparency includes everything from our finances to our needs, from our successes to our challenges.

Dignity

The SOLD Project was created to help the children and communities we serve regain their dignity and lead lives of freedom and purpose. By enabling our Thai students to stay in school and pursue their career aspirations, we also help to ensure child traffickers are unable to steal their self-respect by entrapping them in the sex trade.

Sustainability

SOLD is not interested in providing short-term solutions to systemic, long-term problems; our programs are designed for sustainability and lasting change. We help communities break the cycle of poverty through education, entrepreneurial opportunities, mentoring, vocational training, trafficking prevention awareness, and more.

Positivity

At the SOLD Project, we understand the importance of positivity especially in the face of the harshest realities. Our goal is to bring hope to the Thai communities we serve by having an infectious attitude, offering opportunities to the marginalized, empathy for those who suffer and even for those who prey upon them, and empowerment to our students so that they can continue to pursue their dreams.

Inclusiveness

Our organization was established to help all who are vulnerable. The SOLD Project assists those in need without restrictions based on gender, race, religion, age, background, nationality, et cetera. We consider inclusion to be a fundamental human right, and we are here to fight for the marginalized no matter what their personal inclinations or identifiers may be.

Adaptability

If there is one constant, it’s that things change. Strategies which work now may not work in the future. That’s why we remain adaptable and flexible, continually assessing the needs of our students and their communities to ensure we can tailor our efforts to affect the best results possible for many years to come.

About The SOLD Project

The SOLD Project prevents child sexual exploitation and trafficking in Thailand, providing vulnerable Thai children and youth with scholarships and resources to help them break the cycle of poverty, avoid the dangers of child trafficking, and lead productive, independent lives.
